I write to you as an engineer who has spent most of his career building systems. My work in infrastructure, reliability, and automation taught me a simple lesson: You cannot improve what you cannot see. Over time, I began asking why we do not apply the same principle to healthcare. Why do we often wait until people become sick before paying attention to their health? Why are many preventable conditions discovered after they have already changed lives? These questions led me to establish VitalScan Uganda. VitalScan is a Ugandan initiative focused on preventive healthcare and early disease detection. Our mission is simple: to help people understand their health before their health becomes a problem. Unlike traditional healthcare models that begin after symptoms appear, VitalScan focuses on routine preventive screening, longitudinal health records, and simplified health insights that help individuals identify risks earlier, understand their results, and take action before disease progresses.
