I’m the solo founder behind Vificil.
I built Vificil because I kept running into the same problem while coding with browser-based AI tools: the AI was capable, but moving project context back and forth, copying code manually, and safely applying multi-file changes to local projects quickly became repetitive and error-prone.
Vificil bridges the gap between browser-based AI and your local development environment.
It prepares structured project context for the AI, receives structured patch outputs, safely applies changes to your local project, runs verification checks, and helps recover when something goes wrong—all while keeping your source code local.
One of the core ideas behind Vificil is that it is AI-independent. It isn’t tied to a specific model or API provider. Today I’m focusing primarily on workflows with ChatGPT and Claude, but the underlying workflow can work with other AI systems capable of understanding the context and producing the structured patch format Vificil expects.
There’s also a cost advantage to this approach.
For example, if you already pay for ChatGPT, Vificil is designed to let you use that existing browser access as part of your local development workflow instead of requiring a separately billed OpenAI API integration just to connect AI-generated changes with your project.
In other words, Vificil doesn’t try to replace the AI you already use. It makes that AI work more effectively with your local codebase.
That’s also why Vificil Basic is completely free with no usage quotas.
For users who want a more automated workflow, Vificil Pro will add features such as Full Auto mode, Delta Sync, and persistent backups.
This is Vificil’s first public launch, so right now the most valuable thing for me is feedback. I’d especially love to hear:
