VieEasy bridges the gap between textbook learning and real-life fluency. Ditch the robotic voices! Practice real-life scenarios, perfect your tones with our AI Teacher, and learn Vietnamese exactly how locals speak it through interactive podcasts.
Hi Product Hunt,
I'm the maker of VieEasy.
I built this app because I noticed a recurring frustration among expats living in Vietnam and second-generation Vietnamese living abroad. They spend hours on popular language learning apps, but when they step outside to order a coffee or talk to their relatives, they completely freeze.
The problem is that most platforms teach Vietnamese as if it were a mathematical formula. They use robotic text-to-speech voices and teach sentences that locals simply never use in real life. Furthermore, they completely ignore the cultural context and regional dialects that make Vietnamese so unique.
VieEasy is my attempt to fix this. It is designed around the concept of learning the language naturally, exactly as it is spoken on the streets of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
Instead of rote memorization, the app focuses on practical, real-world situations. We have integrated voice-based conversation practices where you can simulate ordering street food, bargaining at a local market, or renting an apartment without the pressure of a real human judging your pronunciation. The system listens and guides you through the complexities of our tonal system.
For those who want to understand the cultural nuances, we also provide interactive audio lessons that explain the context behind the vocabulary.
If you have ever tried to learn Vietnamese or are planning to visit Vietnam soon, I would be incredibly grateful if you gave VieEasy a try. I am here all day to answer any questions and listen to your honest feedback so we can make this the standard tool for learning our language.
Thank you for your time and support.

The AI teacher for tones is such a cool idea, I've always struggled with hearing the difference between dấu sắc and dấu huyền in real conversation. One thing that would really help me though is a way to record my own voice saying a phrase and get back a score showing which tones I actually nailed versus which ones still sound off to a native ear.

@keyboardnav Thanks for your kind feedback. We already have that feature. You can try it when open speech modal.

the tones are honestly the trickiest part for learners, so maybe add a voice recording feature where we can practice a phrase and get instant feedback on whether our tones match how a local would actually say it, kind of like a built-in pronunciation coach

The tone practice actually caught me off guard, I was getting marked wrong for stuff I thought sounded fine. The podcast-style lessons feel closer to how my partner talks than anything else I've tried.

The AI Teacher for tones is genuinely such a smart call since most apps completely skip that nuance. Love that you built around real speech instead of dragging learners through textbook drills.
