VidVeil is a privacy-first YouTube companion for focused viewing. Blur thumbnails and the playing video, keep Search text-first, hide Shorts and recommendations, disable autoplay, blur one person or area, and use focus timers, private time summaries, and precise A/B looping. No account, backend, or analytics—your usage data stays on your device.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built VidVeil because I wanted to use YouTube for learning without being pulled into thumbnails, Shorts, recommendations, autoplay, and endless scrolling.
VidVeil keeps YouTube’s native interface while letting you blur distracting visuals, keep Search text-first, hide rabbit holes, blur a person or area, use focus timers, and track private local time summaries. It also supports precise A/B looping for lectures and study.
Privacy was a core constraint: no account, backend, analytics, or cloud processing. Usage totals stay on your device.
I’d love your feedback: Which YouTube distractions affect you most, and what would make VidVeil more useful for focused learning?
