TL; DW. VipReader uses NLP + AI to create article-like transcripts for your videos in seconds for FREE. Now you can read, search, and locate a segment within any videos quickly.
Surprisingly, we found people are using our service on their phones, so we decided to improve the mobile experience of VidReader, even the service was not initially designed for the mobile scenario.
Now the web service is fully responsive, which means you could have a way better experience when using VidReader.com on your phone.
Any questions, feedback or feature requests? Leave me a message here. Thanks!
I watched a lot of lectures and I sometimes looked for something specific in those hour-long videos - it was a painful and time-consuming experience. I also remembered how difficult it was to get a high-level understanding of a video before watching through it and the challenge of finding a piece effectively.
VidReader changes everything. Now I can read a video like an article, and find any pieces easily.

This is very cool and helpful. The only thing I don't like however, is how VidReader publicly shares each transcript that was created under "Latest Videos." For instance, I might have an interview that I recorded that I want to transcribe. I could upload it as an Unlisted video to my YouTube account.
If I used VidReader to make a transcript, it essentially takes my Unlisted video and makes it public.
This mode makes any Unlisted video you might have instantly discoverable to the public. There also is not any warning that once you create a transcript, that transcripts becomes publicly accessible in VidReader.
I feel that there should be an option not to share your transcription, or at least some sort of notification that the transcript you are generating is not private and will be publicly available on VidReader.
Other than that, I think this is a stellar website.

@snackvideos Hi, Sunny When I tried it first time, it showed up the result quite well right away but since then (from the second try) it doesn't seem to work. It says it will take less than two mins for the process and let me know via email but never respond at all even after almost 7 hours and for better feature, if the voice and the text can be synchronized word-by-word, that would be awesome. "Descript"(https://www.descript.com) performs that perfectly.
@new_user_4d93c34de7 Oops... it looks like we were running out of computing resource...please try again. Sorry about that, and thanks for the suggestion and the reference. The VidReader is now a prototype to demonstrate the core experience, so your feedback is essential for us to prioritize our daily tasks to make it better.
