Vibote turns your Bluetooth TV remote into a macOS coding controller. Map buttons to shortcuts, hold to talk, and use your favorite AI voice app. Free and open source.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Kiran, a designer and hacker. I built Vibote because I kept vibe coding from my couch, leaning back with a coffee and talking to AI tools, then reaching for the keyboard every time I wanted to say something.
Vibote turns a cheap Bluetooth TV remote (the T6) into a controller for your Mac.
🎙️ Hold to talk. The remote's built-in mic works with macOS dictation, so you can speak your prompts instead of typing them.
🤖 Works with AI voice apps. Vibote installs a virtual microphone, Vibote Mic, that any voice app can pick as its input.
🎛️ Buttons become shortcuts. Accept, send and navigate without touching the keyboard.
It's free and open source (MIT: github.com/pankan/vibote), and your voice is only passed along on your Mac. Vibote doesn't send anything to any server.
A few honest notes for this first release:
• Only the T6 remote is supported so far (about $6-10 online).
• macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. I've tested it on an M3 Pro, but Intel still needs real-world testers.
• The app isn't notarized yet, so the first time you open it you'll need System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
I'd love to hear which remotes you'd like supported next, what you'd map the buttons to, and any bugs you find. Issues and pull requests are welcome!
