I built Vibe Eyes because I missed my dog while sitting at a desk all day. Now he lives in my menu bar: eyes following the cursor, blinking on his own, winking when I click.
Eleven pets ship with the app, but the part I actually care about is when someone drops in a photo of their own. So who would you put up there? Post a picture of your pet in this thread, I'd genuinely like to see them.
Vibe Eyes
Hi Product Hunt,
I work from home and my dog sleeps two rooms away all day. I kept missing him while staring at a screen, so I put him on the screen: in the menu bar, where I look a hundred times a day anyway.
That is the whole app. Drop in a photo of your pet and you get them back as a tiny avatar up there. The eyes follow your cursor, blink on their own, wink when you click, and glance up at you when you have been idle for a while. No window, no dock icon, no permissions to grant.
The hard part was not making a cute head from a photo. It was the blink. A generated head has its eyes wherever the model decided to put them, so the app measures the real eyeballs in the image and bakes a closed-lid frame to match. Slightly off and it goes uncanny: white crescents through the lid, fur changing colour around the eye. Most of the last few months went into that one frame, because a pet that blinks wrong stops looking like your pet.
Free with eleven pets built in. Making your own is a one-time $14.99 unlock plus your own AI key. I do not run a backend, so your photo goes to the provider you connect and nowhere else.
Show me which pet ends up in your menu bar.
