Family learner driving tracker: trips, vehicles, notes, and exports. It complements administrative tracking without replacing the official booklet, insurance, or driving school instructions. Create a separate logbook for each learner driver. Configure your own milestones in distance or driving hours. Add a trip manually with city assistance, or start GPS tracking from iPhone or CarPlay. Share through iCloud, export PDF or CSV files and back up or restore the logbook as JSON.

Hi everyone 👋
The idea for ViaPad came from a very simple real-life problem.
My children are currently learning to drive through the French supervised driving program. Like many families, we were given a paper logbook to track every trip, record mileage, calculate progress, and prepare for the mandatory checkpoints.
Very quickly, we found the process frustrating. The notebook could be forgotten in the car, misplaced, or simply left at home. Keeping it up to date required manual calculations and regular effort from both parents and learners.
At the same time, we all carry smartphones with GPS, cloud synchronization, widgets, and powerful tracking capabilities. It felt strange that such an important part of the learning journey still relied on paper and a calculator.
So I decided to build ViaPad: a shared digital driving logbook that automatically tracks trips, records distance, estimates progress toward milestones, and keeps everyone synchronized.
My goal was not to reinvent driver education, but simply to replace a tedious administrative task with something easier, more reliable, and more enjoyable for families.
I’d love to hear how supervised driving works in your country and whether you’ve experienced similar frustrations with paper-based logbooks. 🚗
