I've always been in interested in modernising stuff. So when I was handed a receipt at a restaurant after finishing a nice meal, I thought to myself why do we still hand out these little pollutive pieces of paper? The goal behind Verd is to have a single place where you can store, categorise and manage your receipts forever. Eventually Verd will allow you to get your receipts seamlessly without having to give out an email address or scan a receipt within the app, but that's on the roadmap. E-receipts have been around for quite long yet have failed to gain major popularity partly because of the overhead that arises from it. People don't really want to give out their personal or work email address at the till. It's also pretty long doing that each time. One feature of Verd that I am proud of is that we create a unique private email address for each user that you can give to stores. Merchants can also scan the QR code that we generate for you. This means that next time you are asked if you want an 'Ereceipt' say yes and have that receipt be digitised and sent to your phone. We also run AI on your receipts and pick out key details such as storename, price and also automatically categorise it for you! Completely free.
