Does Vellona make me fully GPSR compliant?
No, and anyone who says an app can do that is selling you something. Vellona automates the mechanical parts — building metafields per SKU, generating safety pages, scanning for gaps. You still have to collect accurate supplier data (manufacturer details, safety text), and if your manufacturer is outside the EU you still need a named EU Responsible Person — apps don't provide that. We say this on the listing and in the FAQ.
What store data does Vellona need? Product data — enough to build metafields and run the compliance scan. Nothing else. We don't sell or share store data, and there's no checkout on our site. Revocable through Shopify's standard authorization.
How do I get started? Install from the Shopify App Store, authorize the requested access, run the first store-wide scan — you'll see exactly which products are missing GPSR data. Is GPSR actually being enforced, or is this a "prepare for later" problem?
Enforcement is real and it started. Since March 2026, customs in Rotterdam, Hamburg and Felixstowe have been detaining non-compliant shipments. We built Vellona after watching sellers treat GPSR as paperwork and then lose a container to the customs line. The requirement became directly applicable in December 2024 — 2026 is when it started costing people real money.
I only have 50 SKUs — can't I just do this in a spreadsheet?
For 50 SKUs, honestly, maybe. The problems start at catalog scale: keeping supplier data in sync, translating safety warnings per market, and — the dangerous one — knowing which product has no data at all. A spreadsheet doesn't scan. That's the gap Vellona exists for: the store-wide scan that tells you what you didn't notice.
