I was waiting for an app like this to make short videos without advanced camera and editing software. I will finally make use of 3D Touch :) Liked the video tutorial!
Really smart idea and execution - congrats on the launch! It'll be really interesting to see what users start to make with this technology, and the off-line/non-mobile extensions sound really exciting. Cheers!
@omicaustin thanks for the comment. It's new alright - I really cannot think of another app using 3D Touch this way. Imagine a world where we can use this tech to rate online videos as we're watching them 💡
@paul_s_kemp Yes. I was thinking about the market research opportunities as well. You guys have a lot of great work ahead of you. So many applications could benefit from this.
Kudos for executing on what could have been thought to be very tough problem to tackle! Anything that helps to shorten/ease typically effortful tasks has a huge potential to set new standards, imo. Think what Twitter did to blogging - all you needed now was 140 characters! Instagram to photo post-processing. Velapp could do the same for video post-processing. Super excited to give this a try.
@alirtariq excited to get this comment for you. I hadn't made the connection to the success of twitter (and others) simply by reducing friction. Velapp certainly reduces the friction of recording video and editing afterwards 👏

This app looks like it could be useful if you have kids. They rarely pose when you point a camera at them and you usually end up with videos too long and boring. Now, unexpected action can be trimmed down. Interesting! 🙌

Awesome that you say this, as when I was testing this with friends and family - the amount to fathers that came up to me and said something along the lines of "The amount of times I'm filming my kids, I only want to keep the best parts - or show my wife the best moments!" so it's lovely to hear similar feedback and that you're on the same wavelength :)

Is there any plan to open the finished videos up to other platforms? Seeing only Twitter and YouTube as the available options, I'm curious what exactly comes with the premium account.
@steveshugg Hi Steve, when you press the export button the video automatically goes to your camera roll. The next page within Velapp just gives you quick links to share within the app. The upgrade just removes the watermark, and you'll be able to export for any length of time :)
