Hi Product Hunt I built VaultSync after getting frustrated with how difficult it was to actually *see what was happening* with my backups. Most backup tools are great at creating backups, but once they are running they often feel like black boxes. You configure them and hope everything is working weeks later. I wanted something where I could clearly see: • which projects are backed up • how storage evolves over time • which backups are aging or stale • what changed between restore points VaultSync started as a small tool for my own setup (projects + NAS + external drives) and gradually grew into a full desktop backup manager. The latest release (1.6 – Compass) focuses on improving organization and restore safety with things like: • project tagging and smart groups • restore previews • sandbox restore mode • improved backup health insights The project is open source and feedback is very welcome.
