One API. All 27 EU countries. ValidEU is a single REST API for validating European identity numbers across all 27 EU countries — deployed on Cloudflare Workers with cache for sub-50ms latency everywhere. Validate quickly and verify some of them against official government databases: • Personal IDs (PESEL, Personnummer, CPR, HETU...) • Business registries (REGON, KVNR, KVK, Y-tunnus...) • VAT numbers (all 27 countries - verified against VIES) • IBANs; bank codes (verified against OpenIBAN)
I built ValidEU because verifying European company and identity numbers (like VAT, NIP, IBAN, REGON, etc.) across different countries took unnecessarly huge amount of time — each country has its own registry, API, format, their own algorithms and edge-cases and even rate-limits. I wanted a single, fast, reliable and consistent API for all of Europe.
ValidEU runs entirely on the edge network with cache, giving instant responses from anywhere, so validation and verification happen close to the user, with near-zero latency.
It combines fast algorithmic validation and live verification against official databases like VIES, GUS, Polish MF and OpenIBAN (more to come) — all under one unified endpoint and schema.
Plus, it’s free for up to 3,000 validates per month... without a credit card required.
