UX Map is a widget library to document user journeys and human-computer interactions using a simple visual language. It also allows to add interactive annotations to your Axure prototype, that expand contextually on mouseover, and can be toggled on and off globally.
Luca Benazzi, creator of UX Map. I'd like to answer some of your comments:
- Even though it's technically impossible to offer a free trial because of the nature of the product, you can apply for a full refund within two weeks if you think what you get is not what you expected.
- The example featured in the intro video is based on high-level wireframes but UX Map works with any Axure project, and that could also be a high-fidelity, highly interactive prototype.
- I understand the fact that UX Map is not platform agnostic might put somebody off, but on the other hand, it's the extreme versatility of Axure that allows a full integration of annotations and navigable UX maps, and features such as tooltips on mouseover, and the possibility to include annotations not just on top of the presentation layer, but also within elements that become visible in response to a certain trigger such as mouse click or tap. Axure is the ideal tool for those who wish to produce professional UX documentation, it allows to build interactive prototypes super fast and virtually any UI pattern can be recreated without any knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS. The upcoming version 8 is truly impressive and with UX Map elements on top of that, what you get is a fully functional product demo with contextual documentation, and detailed visual descriptions of all users interactions.
@ourielohayon i haven't paid for it (like others have expressed, i wish there was a free trial), but from the demo, it definitely seems to fill that very in-demand gap between Balsamic and InVision (or similar software).
It definitely looks better than Balsamiq, but Axure prerequisitie is a turn off

@romanzadyrako True that! Also, these days I'm more comfortable with native UX tools than browser based. It's like a UX traveller with a Dictaphone; works like a charm without a data plan :)

Looks neat, but according to the FAQ you need Axure RP to run it.
