I run a digital agency in India. About a year ago a client asked me something I couldn't answer: "I rank #1 on Google — so why doesn't ChatGPT ever mention us?"
I checked. It didn't. Neither did Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. And I had no way to prove it, track it, or fix it.
That's Upranke.
What it does: you give it your website. It asks the four AI answer engines the questions your buyers actually ask — 25 queries, 4 engines, twice each — and tells you exactly where you show up, where you don't, and what on your site is stopping you.
The part I'm most proud of is what it refuses to do. Early on I found our own detector counting a "citation" when the model had simply repeated the brand name we'd handed it in the question. Worse — sometimes the model was inventing the company. One engine described a Mumbai wealth-management firm as "a Philippine-based investment platform," at 99% confidence.
So we rebuilt it to classify every single answer into one of three things:
🟢 verified — the engine named you unprompted, with facts that match
🟣 echo — it just repeated the name we gave it
🔴 hallucinated — it made things up about you
Most tools would count all three as a win. We report zero when it's zero.
That rule runs through everything now. If a scan couldn't reach an engine, the report says "could not be measured" — never "not mentioned." If a keyword returns no volume, it says so instead of showing 0. A blank is never a zero.
Where we are: 20 agencies and brands on the platform, ~9,500 measured prompt runs, 3 months of tracked history.
