Hey Product Hunt, I'm the maker of Unshown. I built Unshown because cleaning up my entire desktop before every demo never felt like a real solution. During a live product demo, I still need Slack, Mail, Messages, Terminal, and internal tools. But one notification, window switch, or accidental click can expose something that was never meant for the audience. My first approach used OCR and visual masks to cover sensitive content. It looked promising, but latency, stale masks, and detection errors created a worse problem: false confidence. So I rebuilt the product around capture-level app exclusion. Here is how Unshown works: 1. Choose which Mac apps should stay private. 2. Start Unshown Protected Share. 3. Select that window in your meeting or recording app. 4. Continue using the excluded apps normally on your Mac. The excluded apps remain available locally, but their windows never enter the protected output. Screen processing stays on the Mac using ScreenCaptureKit. The current sharing path does not upload screen frames or run OCR. I designed Unshown for founders running product demos, sales engineers, customer support teams, and creators recording walkthroughs. The current beta: - Supports macOS 14 or later - Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs - Is signed and notarized by Apple - Includes a 7-day full-feature trial - Has a proposed $39 one-time founder license - Does not collect payment yet This is still an early beta. No meeting or recording platform is officially certified yet, so Unshown includes a compatibility test and asks users to verify the participant or recording preview before going live. I would especially appreciate feedback on three things: - Does selecting a separate protected share window feel natural? - Which meeting or recording app would you use it with? - What would Unshown need before you trusted it in an important call? Every screen share starts with the same ritual:

Close Slack. Hide ChatGPT. Move email away. Clean the desktop. Turn off notifications. Then hope nothing private appears during the call.
