unpass

Hey everyone! This is a project that I've been working on for the past few months and am really passionate about because.. Well... I really hate passwords 😅 There have been "password-less" solutions in the past, but most of them used one time codes for signing in. Sure, that's better than remembering passwords but what if there's something that's even better? Even more secure? Even easier to use? That's exactly what unpass hopes to provide! unpass solves this problem by allowing users to authenticate via who they are: their face, their fingerprint, or a security key if they own one! unpass provides this functionality for anyone to implement into their JavaScript app, and the best part is, it will take you ~5 lines of code. Now, it wouldn't be fair to say that this is the perfect solution for everything. The technology behind this is fairly new, and the support for it is definitely a bit lacking. From my limited testing, it seems that Apple devices with newer versions of software will rarely show any errors, while Android devices I found were very 50/50. Windows devices with Windows Hello enabled worked fairly reliably. It also very much depends on which browser and version of browser you currently are. For instance, trying this on Chrome from a MacBook? Probably not going to work. So for those reasons, I would like to deem this a very Alpha version of this software, and more of a "push" into the direction of password-less authentication.
