Practicing a song usually means juggling tools: one to isolate a part, one to slow it down, one to record over it, one to write it down. Many are paid, online-only, or make you upload your music. underdaw does it all for free on your own device: split songs into stems, mute or solo any part, change speed and key, play with a song-synced metronome, record over the backing, and read tab that scrolls with the original recording.

Hi Product Hunt! š
I play bass, and my practice setup was always a mess: one tool to pull the bass out of a song, another to slow it down, another to record over it, and yet another to write the part down. underdaw puts all of that in one free app.
What it does:
⢠Stem separation on your own PC ā vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and more. Nothing is uploaded.
⢠Practice player ā change key and speed without artifacts, A-B loop, a metronome that locks to the song, count-in.
⢠Studio ā record yourself over the stems, with amp sims, effects and VST3/CLAP plugins.
⢠Scores ā open Guitar Pro / MusicXML files or write your own tab, and play them in sync with the original song. It can even draft a bass tab from the separated bass track.
It's free with no account and no paid tier. It runs on Windows, and there's an Android app with separation, practice, recording and scores.
