Unchained compares Snowball vs Avalanche debt payoff methods side-by-side — not one at a time. Add your debts and instantly see which method saves more time, which saves more money, and the exact month you hit $0. It warns you in real time if a minimum payment isn't covering interest, previews how an extra payment changes your timeline before you calculate, and supports a one-time lump sum at any month. Free, no signup, 7 languages, nothing leaves your browser.
Hey PH! 👋
I built Unchained because I was tired of debt calculators that only show you one strategy at a time. You pick Snowball, calculate, then have to switch to Avalanche and calculate again just to compare — so I built one that shows both side-by-side instantly.
A few things I focused on that I hadn't seen in other tools:
Real-time warning if a minimum payment isn't even covering the interest — this is a much more common (and scarier) situation than people realize, and most calculators just silently show you "50 years" without explaining why
Live preview — type in an extra monthly payment and instantly see the months/interest it saves, before you even hit calculate
One-time lump sum support — model a bonus or tax refund at whatever month you choose
Works in 7 languages including full Hebrew RTL support, which weirdly no other debt tool I found offers
Everything saves locally in your browser — no account, nothing sent to a server, ever
It's free to use here. I'd genuinely love feedback — especially if you try breaking the math (extreme interest rates, weird edge cases), since that's the part I care most about getting right.
Happy to answer anything about how it works! 🙌
