👋 everyone! I lead Product & Design for the Unacademy Language Learning app. At Unacademy, we've been building educational products for almost 10 years now. Having used a ton of language learning apps, we realised that most of them ended up with too much gamification, too many complicated & unnecessary features, or overly complex teaching methods that didn't stick. Am I able to learn other languages other than Spanish with this product? I have been learning German on Duolingo for a while but I don’t feel like I have gotten anywhere.

Why do you think a Duolingo clone would succeed in India? What is the moat of this app? If you include regional languages like Kannada, I would try this one! But, if the features are almost exactly the same as Duolingo, I won't stop my streak on Duolingo and start using the Unacademy Learning app. Duolingo has a larger community. I see no point in trying out this app.

Since Language Learning products are mostly 'recorded' in nature, in order to maintain retention some amount of gamification is important but we're mindful about drawing the line at where it gets too much. We've cautiously kept the experience focused around learning and not making it too much into a game. We're super glad you love the Speak mode ❤️
