I built UkrLingo because I noticed something frustrating: there's no serious app dedicated to learning Ukrainian.
Duolingo has a basic Ukrainian course, but it barely scratches the surface. Pimsleur is audio-only and expensive. Rosetta Stone, Babbel, Busuu? They don't even offer Ukrainian.
So I built the app I wished existed:
- An AI conversation partner (GPT-4o) that actually talks with you in Ukrainian
- A pronunciation coach so you don't just read words — you learn to say them
- Spaced repetition (SM-2 algorithm) so you actually remember what you learn
- Gamification (XP, streaks, leaderboard, arena battles) to keep it fun
The app is free to start — 5 session a day, no credit card, no catch.
One thing that matters to me: some part of all revenue goes to organizations supporting war-affected Ukrainian children. Learning Ukrainian isn't just a skill — it's an act of connection with a culture that deserves to be heard.
