I'm a chronic skimmer of online text, especially ebooks, and I could never recall much from what I'd read. I realized that pairing a physical action with reading slows me down and makes me actually think about the words. I built Typewryte so I can read slowly again and enjoy the journey. This isn't a speed or an accuracy test. It's just reading, at a slower pace. Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with it and suggestions of books to add.

Thanks for checking out my project.
A few things to mention:
The Library is composed of books and speeches that are in the public domain: classics worth a revisit and many speeches that are worth a read and a thought.
The free write, is a place to just let ideas and thoughts flow, there is a prompt to get started, but what ever you write stays private.
This is deliberately slow, the idea is not to be reading through entire books in one sitting but to take time, rest your hands between chapters or paragraphs and reflect.
There is some interesting research that I found about this on the philosophy page. Maryanne Wolf's work on the "deep reading brain" is a good place to start.
Would love book and speech suggestions, and any bugs you find.
