Typetester

We’d love to introduce you to Typetester, an online web typography editor, featuring web fonts from Adobe Edge, Adobe Typekit and Google Fonts. Ever since 2005, we’ve been on a mission to improve typography on the web. Typetester Classic (http://classic.typetester.org) was our initial answer. Back then it was a simple tool (developed initially for our own needs) to test and compare typefaces. Following a public release, it received praise from the web design community and was featured in numerous printed publications as an indispensable tool for web designers. More importantly, it felt great knowing that Typetester was helping people with their everyday design needs. Nevertheless, even at that stage we felt that there was far more to web typography than just evaluating typefaces. After all, typography can be so rich, expressive and delightful. And that’s where we find ourselves today. After a tonne of hard sweat, love, care and attention Typetester is about to relaunch as a full-blown web typography editor. An editor that builds upon previous incarnations but one that allows people to design creative yet expressive typography which can just as easily be applied to real-life responsive projects. In adopting a user-centered approach and with more than 10 years of experience in design-first product development — Typetester is also continually tested, validated and enhanced based on real end-user needs.
