I built TypeScout after spending too much time inside large font libraries where the hardest part was not owning fonts, but understanding them quickly enough to make a confident choice. TypeScout gives that work one focused place on the Mac: browse the library visually, compare families, filter by what matters, organize choices around projects, and catch missing or changed font files before they become a problem. It is local-first, requires no TypeScout account, and does not upload the font library to a cloud service. The core browsing workflow is free. TypeScout Pro adds deeper comparison, organization, Font Health, export, backup, restore, and monitoring tools through Apple-managed subscriptions. This is the first public release, and I’d genuinely value feedback from designers, typographers, and anyone whose font library has become harder to navigate than it should be.
