Twodos is a delightfully simple todo app that respects your focus and privacy. There are no due dates, reminders, or push notifications. You simply decide if you want to do your todos sooner or later.
I'm excited to share my new app on Product Hunt. It's called Twodos and it's already been featured on TechCrunch and in issue #28 of Installer from The Verge.
So many apps I've used over the years were either too basic (a flat list of items), or unnecessarily complicated (tags, reminders, due dates, locations) and intrusive. None mapped to how I thought about todos, so I built this app.
The magic of Twodos is in the delightful simplicity. Itβs one screen with two lists:
- Things you need to do sooner
- Things you can worry about later
Twodos is simple, but not basic. Here are just some of the features:
π₯³ Delightful - Engaging sound, gesture and haptic design makes the whole experience feel special.
π± Widget Support -Keep your todos close with support for Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets.
π¨ Custom Colors - Not in love with the monochrome vibes? Select an accent color that works for you.
π Color Modes - Support for light and dark mode makes it easy on the eyes, day or night.
π Private - Your todos are securely stored locally and backed up to your iCloud account. You are the only person who has access to them. No third-party tracking and no ads.
π€« Quiet - Twodos doesn't send reminders or push notifications. Life is noisy enough.
Twodos truly is the todo app Iβve always wanted, and I hope it helps you as much as itβs helped me.
If you have any feedback, you can send it directly from the app (look for βGet In Touchβ in Settings).

Congratulations @adamwhitcroft on launching Twodos on Product Hunt! π It's amazing to see how your app has garnered attention from esteemed publications like TechCrunch and The Verge's Installer. The simplicity and thoughtfulness behind Twodos really shine through, offering a refreshing approach to managing tasks. From the engaging design to the customizable features like widget support and custom colors, Twodos seems to have it all. Here's to helping users stay organized without the unnecessary clutter and distractions. Looking forward to seeing Twodos make waves in the productivity space! πβ¨
I'm thrilled to see Twodos making its debut on Product Hunt today! π
Twodos stands out as an opinionated balance between simplicity and functionality. In a world cluttered with "everything apps", Twodo emerges as a breath of fresh air, embodying the principle that sometimes, less is more.
The commitment to a distraction-free environment is particularly commendable. In an era where digital noise is the norm, choosing to eschew reminders and push notifications in favour of a quieter, more focused user experience is a bold and much-needed departure from the status quo.
Flipping the script on traditional to-do lists, Twodos asks one brilliantly simple question: sooner or later? It's like having a personal life coach in your pocket, nudging you to focus on what's important without all the fuss.
Great job, @adamwhitcroft. Congrats on the launch.
@keyfer Thanks so much for the kind words, they mean a lot Keyfer!

Looking good @adamwhitcroft! π
TwoQuestions:
1. Is there a widget option that shows a single to-do on it, turning each widget into like a digital sticky note for the home-screen? A OneDo, if you will (going all in on the puns here).
2. Will you be adding sync with Apple's Reminders app at all? Would be great for use with Siri β I firmly believe that Siri's ease of use for setting reminders (to do things) is the reason so many people default back to Apple's Reminders app.
Other than that, congrats on the launch π₯³

This app is such a joy to use - so simple and straight to the point that it becomes an obvious option for keeping track of your tasks.
Congrats on the launch! It looks nice and clean.
I think for me this would get too cluttered though, having everything in just two sections. A split between personal and work would be a minimal requirement for me personally. But this probably works well for some people.
Good luck today!
@jopie Super fair, it's an opinionated approach so it won't be for everyone, but thanks for the support anyway!

Nice! I'm building something in a similar space. I find most people have a mix of calendar + notes of some kind + ordering into actual to do's. This is a nice angle on part of that.
@max_sinclair2 Yeah, I use two apps: Twodos and Calendar. Twodos is where the majority of my tasks go. If I need to get something done by a specific date or time I've always just used Calendar because it's the best date manager out there.

@adamwhitcroft Yeah makes sense. I'm doing my own actually too. Trying to stick it all into one app basically. It's called Forzeit. I won't link it for sake of being promo'y. But yeah it's a big problem this stuff that's not solved well yet I don't think
A wonderful app @adamwhitcroft! Love all the little interactions, makes adding and completing tasks a joy. If you've been looking for a minimalist to-do app this is perfect.
