Tussup turns debates into short-form video battles. Start a “Tuss” with a video and topic, then the community responds with video Takes choosing For or Against. Users vote on the strongest arguments, and when the timer ends, one side wins. Unlike traditional social apps built around comments and passive scrolling, Tussup is built entirely around competitive video debates, participation, and community-driven outcomes.

@frantzarty Interesting direction honestly. But I’m trying to understand what stops this from eventually turning into rage-bait optimized content like every other social platform?
The “stake points on a side” mechanic is clever, but it also feels like it could reward confidence and entertainment more than actual good arguments. Have you thought about how you prevent people from just farming controversial takes for engagement?
Also curious how moderation works once debates become political, sensitive, or coordinated. Video debates escalate way faster than text.
And one more thing: if the app is built around quick 60-second takes, how do you stop complex discussions from becoming oversimplified “winner/loser” content?
The product definitely stands out from the usual AI launches on PH though. At least it’s trying something different instead of another chatbot wrapper.

Thanks, Josh. These are exactly the right questions.
A few thoughts:
First, I don’t want Tussup to become another rage-bait machine. The goal is not “most outrageous take wins.” The feed needs to become more user-controlled over time, so people can choose the kind of debates they want: politics, sports, culture, fun nostalgia topics, serious issues, or lighter stuff like “best Saturday morning cartoon from the 90s.”
This is version 1, so the mechanics will evolve. I’m already thinking about ways to reward better arguments, not just louder or more entertaining ones.
On video, I actually think putting your face behind a take can make people more thoughtful than anonymous comment-thread arguing. It won’t solve everything, but it raises the social cost of pure trolling.
Moderation is going to matter a lot, especially around politics and sensitive topics. That is something I’m taking seriously as the platform grows.
On the 60-second limit, I agree with you. Short takes are great for making debates easy to start, but not every topic should be compressed into a quick winner/loser format. I’m working on paid/verified Tuss options where creators can allow longer video Takes for deeper discussions.
Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback. This is the kind of criticism that helps make the product better. Feel free to reach me anytime at frantz@tussup.com. I’m actively looking for feedback.
