Hi everyone! I'm Neil Moon, the sole creator of Turing Test Chat. Back at the end of April, I suddenly thought of an interesting concept. What if we did an online Turing Test with ChatGPT? I went to building it right away. After a few days of working on the project, a very similar product called Human or Not came out. This was essentially a proof of concept for me, and I took plenty of design decisions from the game. Now that Human or Not has shut down, I feel it's a great time to release Turing Test Chat. Turing Test Chat is very similar to Human or Not, with some key differences. On joining a chat, you are randomly placed in a room with a human or ChatGPT. Over the next two and a half minutes, you will have a conversation with the other chatter. At the end of this chat, you have to decide if you spoke to a human or to a bot. What makes Turing Test Chat different is that it has more gamified features in it. All chatters are assigned a goal of what they are supposed to sound like. Maybe a human will be assigned the goal of sounding like a bot, for example. At the end, all human chatters are awarded points based on the selections of the human chatters. For now Turing Test Chat is free for all users. One week after release on July 9, I'll make a decision on how to limit chatters and what monetization I'll implement. I expect to keep the limits fairly high in order to have lots of chatters at any given time. I'm so happy to finally show my work of the past couple months to the world. I hope you'll all enjoy it. Turing Test Chat is here to stay, and I'll be doing plenty of updates in the coming weeks!
