So often, people feel tired, under-recovered, or just off and there isn’t a good way to naturally debug why. I built TUNA because, as a menstruating athlete and now a breastfeeding mother, my own nutritional needs were constantly moving. Iron, iodine, choline, energy needs, recovery, all changed with training, hormones, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and sleep, and I never really knew whether I was keeping up or what was keeping me down. I believe an app like this should exist. TUNA looks at nutrients alongside the things that actually change your needs: workouts, sleep, hormones, life stage, supplements, bloodwork, genetics and more. I also very deliberately did not want to build another AI slop app. I’ve been working on TUNA for four years, researching the mechanisms behind nutrition and human physiology, from nutrient absorption and deficiencies to cholesterol, inflammation, ketosis, fasting, antioxidants, athletic performance, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. My goal is to keep building TUNA as the research evolves, so it becomes the most complete and current tool I can make for understanding how nutrition interacts with the rest of human biology. It is detailed. It is complex. But biology is detailed and complex. I didn’t want to build an app that watered that down.
