Watching YouTube to improve your English, but unknown words keep flying by? You hear them, miss the meaning, and you’re lost. TubeVocab fixes this. Click any word in the subtitles → get an AI flashcard with pronunciation, contextual meaning, examples, and an AI-generated image to help you visualize and remember. The magic: encounter that word in another video, and the platform highlights it. Every word links to every video moment where it appeared — real context, not isolated definitions.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built TubeVocab from a frustration I had again and again while learning English with YouTube.
You’re watching a video, following along, everything feels fine, then one unfamiliar word appears and suddenly the sentence stops making sense. You miss the meaning, lose the context, and the moment is gone.
I didn’t like how broken the usual workflow felt. Pause the video, copy the word, open a dictionary, check a definition, switch back, try to remember the scene. It takes you out of the experience completely.
So I made TubeVocab to keep learning inside the video instead of around it.
You can click any word in the subtitles and instantly get an AI flashcard with pronunciation, contextual meaning, examples, collocations, translation in your native language, and an AI generated image to make the word easier to remember.
What I’m most excited about is this:
TubeVocab does not treat a word as a one time lookup. When that same word shows up again in another video, it gets highlighted for you. You can open every video moment where it appeared and learn the word through repeated real world context.
That feels much closer to how vocabulary is actually built. Not by memorizing isolated definitions, but by meeting the same word naturally across different situations until it becomes familiar.
We also added 6 practice modes to help reinforce what you learn. My favorite is Match mode. It’s fast, simple, and honestly pretty fun.
Highlights:
🎯 Click any subtitle word to learn it instantly
🖼️ AI generated images for visual memory
🔗 Track the same word across multiple videos
🔁 6 practice modes
🌍 40+ native languages
📚 Anki sync for power users
It’s free to start with 110 credits, which is about 3 videos + 50 words.
I’d love your feedback, especially from people who use YouTube to learn English. Does this feel useful to you, and what would you want TubeVocab to do next?
