If you are in the Toronto region, let us know at gettrofi@gmail.com or sign up on our website and we will provide you a nice discount! By leveraging the power of group buys, the community can have the buying power of grocery stores, giving the community access to wholesale prices at the same freshness and quality or better. We've been working hard on connecting local farmers to our platform and have partnered with several of them to bring you guys the best quality available. Checkout some pictures of my trip to the asparagus farm the other day :)

Hey everyone 👋 I'm Ryan, one of the co-founders of Trofi! We're a group of university students (and foodies) from Toronto aiming to put power back into the hands of local communities and farmers. We believe in the power of food to bring communities together through a shared understanding of where their produce comes from—creating an intimate connection with the producers who grow what goes on their plates 🍽️. We were inspired to build Trofi after seeing a similar model in Asian diaspora communities, where community members would band together over group chat to bulk buy specialty Asian goods. We took what we learned from participating in this process and smoothed out the inefficiencies, opening it up to support our local farmers who need help (especially now). We've run successful pilots in Toronto already—sign up on our website to find out when we're coming to you🥦 We'll be around here and on Twitter all day to answer any questions you may have 😀 Would love to hear what you think <3

Especially in these times where local farmers need all the support they can get, Trofi steps in to connect their product directly with those who care the most - the people who eat it. By skipping grocery stores and other middlemen, group buying connects consumers to farmers in a cost-friendly and personal way, tying together communities while providing fresh local produce. I discovered Trofi through Mozilla Builders, and as a food tech founder I love their vision of leveraging technology to decentralize the supply chain and bring farmers and communities closer together!

While doing market research, we made multiple 3am trips down to Canada's largest food terminal to talk to local food distributors. The people are extremely hardworking, waking up to sell at 2am, 6 days of the week 🌙 They talk directly to farmers, and take pride in the quality of their offerings. One of the big takeaways Trofi had from talking to them was that their products are sold in grocery stores, often at 3x the markup. We're trying to use the medium of group buying to decentralize groceries and empower these small businesses, local farms, and members of the community. 🚜 Feel free to ping us if you have any questions. Would love to hear what you guys think! 😀

Wow! What a creative idea! I've always wanted to support local farmers, but couldn't bring myself to get out of the house and into a farmers market! Convenient!
