Auto-detect bank transactions from SMS & notifications

Most expense apps make you log transactions manually or connect your bank account. Trakio reads your bank SMS and UPI notifications automatically — even when the app is closed. Transactions appear as pending cards; one tap confirms them. Available in 8 Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada & Malayalam. No bank login, no third-party data sharing.

@varun_nadar Upvoted this. I like how directly this solves a real habit problem instead of adding another dashboard or workflow on top of it. The SMS parsing idea is practical, especially for UPI-heavy users in India.
Have you seen any accuracy issues with certain banks or message formats, or does it handle most of them reliably?
@spotch_founder Thanks that's exactly the problem we wanted to solve. The "another dashboard" trap was very real.
On accuracy: the major banks and UPI rails (HDFC, SBI, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, GPay, PhonePe, Paytm) hit ~95%+ on amount, merchant, and direction. Where it gets messier: smaller cooperative banks, regional-language SMS, and promotional formats that mimic transaction syntax. That's why every parsed transaction lands in a Pending Transactions card first you confirm or correct before it commits. So even a misparse never becomes a silent wrong entry in your spend history.
We treat parsing failures as a data point, not a bug when users hit-rate dips on a specific bank, that gets prioritized in the next release.

This is great! Why dont the existing upi apps use this method? Congrats on the launch @varun_nadar
Hii@lakshya_singh ,Thanks for the congrats!
Honestly, business incentives are misaligned. UPI apps make money from transaction volume. Trakio is a budgeting tool that helps you spend less actually hurts their revenue. Plus, parsing all your SMS (not just UPI) feels invasive in a payments app, but it's the entire value prop in Trakio.
We won the moat by staying focused on one thing: tracking privately.
Are you tracking expenses right now? Curious what gaps you're seeing.

@varun_nadar That makes a lot of sense. I am not exactly tracking expenses, usually just keep a check on my fuel expenses I do on my credit card. Does it track that?
@lakshya_singh Perfect use case! Yes, Trakio tracks credit card expenses automatically.
When you swipe your credit card, your bank sends you an SMS notification. Trakio reads that SMS locally on your phone, auto-parses it, and extracts the amount, merchant, and date. You just tap to confirm that's it. One tap per transaction, no manual typing.
All processing happens on your device. No SMS data ever leaves your phone.
Fuel, groceries, subscriptions everything gets tracked with a single tap. You save the 30 seconds of manually typing in each expense.
Try it and let me know how it goes!

@varun_nadar This is intersting. But how does it track if its for fuel or some grocery store? Sometimes, the fuel stations use different names. Thats where I get confuse the most. I was just checking out my fuel expenses last week and thats what pisses me off. Does it solve that issue?
I will try it anyway once I am done with Thumbmagic's launch today. Shoot me a DM on linkedin. I will try it out and share my feedback with you.
