Hi Product Hunt, I'm Markus, the maker of TradingBook. 👋 I got tired of Excel: broken formulas, endless tabs, and a sheet I dreaded opening after a losing week. So I built the journal I actually wanted to use, one that shows the real numbers net of fees and doesn't lock my trade history away on someone else's server. Most trading journals are either a spreadsheet you outgrow or a subscription that keeps your trade history on someone else's server. TradingBook takes a different route: • Local-first: everything runs in your browser. Your trades live in one JSON file on your own device. No sign-up, no server needed. • Optional sync: if you want your journal on several devices, you can create an account. Your data is encrypted in your browser with a PIN before it is uploaded, so I can't read it. The trade-off: there's no PIN recovery, so keep a JSON backup. • Real numbers: every metric (P&L, drawdown, equity curve, calendar, goals) is net of fees. Leverage and margin tracking cover CFD, forex, crypto and futures, with a rough liquidation price and warnings when a stop-loss sits beyond it. • Free and open source (MIT). No ads, no paywall. Works on desktop and phone, in English and German. What it doesn't do yet: there is no broker import, so trades are entered by hand (or imported from a JSON file). If you tell me which brokers or exports matter most, that goes to the top of my list. I'd love your feedback, especially on missing metrics and anything that feels off on mobile.
