I’ve been in the foreign trade business for many years, and TradeMate did not start as a software project. It started with the problems we faced in our own company.
Anyone who has worked in foreign trade knows the situation.
Customers are spread across different platforms. Salespeople need to find leads, create content, reply to messages, manage customer information, and follow up at the same time. Over time, spreadsheets pile up, accounts increase, and customer records become harder to manage.
Our company had the same problems.
Over the years, we hired people, trained teams, bought software, and tried different tools. But most tools only solved one part of the process. We used one tool for lead generation, another for content, and another for customer management. Our sales team spent too much time switching between systems instead of talking to customers.
That is why I started building TradeMate.
My goal was simple: bring customer acquisition, customer management, content creation, and follow-up into one workspace, so our team could spend more time on customers and orders.
During development, we changed the product many times.
At first, I wanted to add more features. Later, I realized that more features do not always make a better product. We started removing unnecessary functions and rebuilt the workflow around the way our own foreign trade team works every day.
If a feature helps our salespeople do their work, we keep it. If it looks impressive but does not solve a real problem, we remove it.
TradeMate is not finished.
I am releasing it because I want more people in foreign trade to use it, test it, and tell me what works and what does not.
After all these years in this business, one thing has become clear to me:
Foreign trade companies do not need more software.
They need a tool that understands how foreign trade work is actually done.
That is the reason I will keep building TradeMate.
