Speed test sites are slow, ad-heavy, and only show you one number. Most CLI alternatives measure download speed and stop there. I wanted the full picture in one shot plus I don't want to start my browser and search for speed test, so I built tracerate, a pure Python, no daemons, no accounts. Usage examples: tracerate: Performs a full test including download, upload, bufferbloat, and regional latency. tracerate --quick: Executes a fast test focusing only on download speed (10s duration), skipping upload and extra metrics. tracerate --duration 30: Allows customization of the download test duration in seconds (default is 15 seconds). tracerate --streams 8: Configures the number of parallel download streams (default is 6). tracerate --output json: Generates machine-readable output in JSON format.
