Hey everyone! I'm Dominik, the developer behind Together.
My girlfriend and I are long distance - different countries - and a while back I made this simple website that just showed how many days until we see each other again. Nothing fancy, just a number on a screen. But checking it every morning became one of my favorite little rituals.
Then one day she said something like "I wish we had a bucket list somewhere" and I thought... I can add that. Then came a timeline of us - first trip, first I love you, meeting each other's families. And it just snowballed from there into a full app.
I looked at what couples apps were out there and honestly - they were either really ugly, packed with stuff we didn't need, or built around streaks and daily quizzes. I genuinely hate streaks. They turn something that should feel sweet into a chore. Miss a day and you feel guilty? No thanks.
So I built Together. Just the stuff that actually matters to us:
- Countdown - days, hours, minutes until we're together again. I check this every morning
- Mood check-ins - instead of the "how are you" "good" "good" loop, you tap how you're feeling and your partner sees it. It actually opened up way more honest conversations for us
- Bucket list - we have like 30 things on ours now. Some big (visit Japan), some small (make pasta from scratch together)
- Timeline - all our milestones in one place. Scrolling through it honestly makes me emotional sometimes
- Private notes - locked behind Face ID, for the stuff that's just between you two
- Widgets - I have the countdown on my home screen, she has the distance + countdown one
- Nudge - a poke button for when you miss them. We abuse this one
It's not just for long distance - but the countdown and distance features hit different when you're far apart.
No ads, no tracking, no streaks, no quizzes. Just you and your person.
