Ever tried to get a load of people to meet at the same place, at the same time, every week for a game of soccer? Sounds simple doesn't it, but it's not! toepoke aims to solve one problem - take away the admin and let you get back to just turning up and enjoying your game.

I've been using this site to organise my weekly game for over 13 years now, in which time the game has grown from a core 10 people playing 5aSide to a squad of only 100 players signing up for 7aSide. Keeping track of that many people's details and availability is only possible with a site like this. Setting up your game schedules, including time and venue, is simple and allows for easy repeating to keep the momentum going week after week.

It's also interactive for regular users, allowing them to track their goals across games as well as rating their fellow players. The latter is great for helping to select teams for the games. You can also be part of multiple squads so you can organise your Monday night game but sign up for that other game on a Thursday too. You can delegate organisational elements, such as selecting teams, to trusted users which is a welcome function for the overworked organiser.

Aside from maybe a UI refresh, there's only a handful of things I can think of to improve the site as it stands:

• Ability to add additional data for players such as favoured positions and strengths (and weaknesses?)
• Ability to track additional stats for the players, such as assists (as well as goals)
• Along with the above maybe a feature to help select teams based on the stats held by the site
• Maybe a simpler way to invite/add players to the squads; email invites can sometimes get lost in spam
• Collection of payments for games would really help to round out the organisation process

At the time of signing up there weren't many other options available, aside from the weekly (and lengthy) email chain; even WhatsApp was in its infancy then. And once we got started using, there was no need to move away from it. It does exactly what we need it to.
