When I originally had the idea for a compendium of games websites, the name was GamesHistories. I stopped work on it when it I bit off more than I could chew. Instead, I concentrated on one project - Zelda Timeline. Launching on November 21st, Zelda Timeline is a an encyclopaedia of everything to do with the Legend of Zelda and its many stories. However, whilst developing ZT, I resurrected the idea of a core project and GamesHistories was reborn as Timeline.
Now with a clear focus and a solid idea, Timeline HQ will serve as an umbrella site for each Timeline project, currently standing at 3 official projects - Zelda Timeline, Metroid Timeline and Halo Timeline.
Each Timeline project will be a different look and feel, much like the games themselves. Whereas Zelda has a deep history and a focus on story-telling and connecting the games through the much-debated Timeline, Metroid Timeline will focus on the universe of Samus and the worlds she visits. Without giving too much away about, I'll be resurrecting an ancient CSS experiment to show the universe of Metroid in a unique way.
The umbrella site will be the chance for game fans to vote on their favourite series to see as a Timeline project, with a vote on what they would like to see most on the site too like prizes, a focus on writing, responsiveness and so on.
