Okay, I stumbled upon this tool while browsing, and honestly, it seems pretty basic, no signup is cool but makes me wonder, how secure is it actually. Also, how can this be useful for folks juggling multiple projects and teams, any plans for better integration options?

@copyleadcoach To use Time Tag you don't need to sign up. All of your data is stored locally on your system and nothing is sent over to servers. This is most secure you can be while using a web app. However, if you want to sync across devices, you will need to sign in. Once you have signed in your data will be stored in database hosted on vercel. When you sign in from another device with same account, your data will be synced from database. Yes, I have though about having multiple timers and ability to name, save and export each. Professionals can use it to manage multiple projects. And general users (like me) can have a list of tracker for each of their day. Integrations point has been brought up few other users too. And it seems a genuinely useful feature. What tools do you think Time Tag should integrate with?

Congrats Tirth, this seems like a super handy tool, I wish more apps made time tracking this simple tho I wonder how you handle potential syncing issues between devices can you share a bit more on that?

So, I saw this new time tracking tool, it’s got tags and notes and doesn’t need sign up which is pretty nice but I kind of wonder if it’s really solving any new problems or just adding another app to clutter our devices, I mean there are already so many time trackers out there, and this one’s from a solo developer so I’m curious about support and updates and how reliable it’ll be in the long run, seems useful but might just be more hassle than it’s worth, anyone else feel the same🤔

@angiemedlead That is exactly how I feel when I come across yet another todo app or note taking app or time tracker. There are so many time trackers but still I couldn't find one that just works out of the box. I didn't want to waste time on tracking time. To be fair, Time Tag lacks some of key features that users have pointed out. And I am planning to implement few features by this month. But I feel in its current form Time Tag is solving a new problem. The problem of barrier between intention to track time and actually doing it. You can start using Time Tag as soon as you click the link. So I don't think it is more hassle than it is worth - simply because there is minimal hassle and some worth.

I'm not really seeing the need for another time tracking app I mean there are so many already and while it’s cool that no sign-up is required and data stays local it feels like a basic feature now rather than a standout one maybe adding some kind of more unique value like better customization or integrating with popular tools would help what do you think about adding voice command or maybe even a slight gamification to make it more engaging

@authorpresenta I think I agree with you. Simplicity of use is moat of Time Tag. But it is lacking any additional features around it to make it stand out. This has been general feedback from most of the comments. People want something more than just a basic time tracker. Some of the suggestions have been - running multiple trackers simultaneously, naming and saving trackers, customization, and as you said integrations, voice command, gamification. I'm not sure through which one I will expand scope of Time Tag, but I will be definetely adding more functionality to it. I'm glad you talked about standing out among countless other time trackers. This has been my primary concern since start. what tool do you think needs to be integrated with Time Tag? In terms of customization, what kind of customization would you want? Thanks for your insightful suggestion. It means a lot.

Congrats on the launch, tirthd, while the concept sounds interesting, I gotta ask, how secure is it really if no sign-up is needed, and what's the backup plan if the sync fails don't think I'll use it without a clear answer

@codecreator42 I don't think I was entirely clear about security and syncing in Time Tag. Let me clear it up. To use Time Tag you don't need to sign up. All of your data is stored locally on your system and nothing is sent over to servers. This is most secure you can be while using a web app. However, if you want to sync across devices, you will need to sign in. Once you have signed in your data will be stored in database hosted on vercel. When you sign in from another device with same account, your data will be synced from database. There is an export button at bottom. So if anything fails or you just don't want to use Time Tag anymore, you can get export your data in a csv. Did I answer your concern? Let me know how you feel about using Time Tag now.

I came across this new time tracker kinda randomly while browsing and I've gotta say, I'm not entirely convinced it solves "real pain points" for everyone, I've seen similar apps that do the same thing and a bit more, plus no sign-up required is cool but makes me worry about data privacy, would love to see more info on that👀

I side with you on point that Time Tag does not solve pain points for most users. It is simple to use. But It is just a basic time tracker with nothing much to make it stand out. Many users have suggested additional features as per their use. I plan to add more to Time Tag that solves "real pain points". What pain points would you want addressed from a time tracker?
