The bankruptcy of Thing Charger came as a big surprise. The founders were upfront about delays and frequently posted updates on Indiegogo. Although different in many ways, the start of the campaign reminded me of Pebble's Kickstarter campaign, with the glue not setting properly. Thing Charger got past the point of most campaigns, managing to start manufacturing and beginning to fulfill orders. The last update gave the impression that most backers stated that the team should try again with something new. I've been unable to find what came next, if anything, but appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit. Looking back on the past six years, so much has been done mandating that creators have working prototypes and a supply chain in place before starting these projects. You can still find products made by Thing Charger's manufacturing partner on online marketplaces for sale, for those who appreciate the design.
