Despite the existence of Panda Daily Chrome extension, I always felts that gifs from Dribbble made the new tab page load extremely slow. One would move on to typing the next website even before the new tab renders properly. Despite the flexibility to customise it, I had always preferred a simple layout that gives what I needed - Updates stuff from the 3 websites I check out regularly.

The day I realised that something called TheNews.im existed. I truly wondered why someone had not turned yet it into a replicated Chrome extension yet. Then on on one Thursday when I was lying on bed pointlessly questioning my existence, I decided to do it myself.
Personal learnings -
1. I am a designer and am petrified of code. This project definitely helped me start looking at code as a mildly intimidating tool that can only help me build products that I design.
2. The importance of shipping has only gotten much more clearer to me. I had spend months before trying to think of that epic Chrome extension that doesn't yet exist in the market. Shipping this extension has gotten me closer to the realisation that done is way better than perfect.
I hope this helps me for my next product that I hope to launch in a month.
