Hey everyone! I'm Tim, the maker. I built this because I see more and more people generating HTML dashboards with AI and they have nowhere to put them. After being in Data Visualization for almost 20 decades, just at the moment we were solving the "Excel hell" by centralized, secure and scalable data platforms, we are about the enter a new one: Unverified, AI generated, Data viz outputs, mostly in HTML. They sit on desktops, get shared as screenshots on LinkedIn, or die in Slack threads. The actual interactive dashboard is lost. We're entering a "hell", a beautiful one-off HTML files scattered everywhere with no home, no version control, no way for others to explore them. The Viz Republic is an undertaking to counter the proliferation and do 5 things: -Give people a platform to show what they've got -Challenge and allow improve the output created by thousands of users everyday -Encourage them ànd let them encourage each other to do better -Make sure we don't throw away decades of visualization best practices in the pivot towards using AI tools I'm on a mission, the viz republic will force a new generation of data professionals and enthousiasts to take reponsability over the data visualizations they create ... in public. The two features I'm most excited about: The Roast: it genuinely finds things you'd miss. Truncated axes, missing labels, misleading color scales. It scored one of my own test dashboards a 3/10. Humbling and fantastic. Let's go. Source Investigation: this one matters. AI tools confidently generate dashboards with completely fabricated numbers. The fact-checker cross-references every data point against real public databases and tells you what's real and what's made up. With clickable academic references. (take note: heavily in development). The bigger vision: This starts as a fun gallery for data enthusiasts, but the goal is to grow it into a mature, secure data sharing platform that works for both businesses and funseekers. Think enterprise teams sharing internal dashboards with proper access control, alongside hobbyists showing off their weekend viz projects. Same platform, different tiers. It's in alpha.
