The Lift is a retro-style puzzle where you plan the elevator route to deliver every passenger to the correct floor. Each building becomes a small logistics challenge to solve. I came up with this mechanic 8 years ago while working as a CTO. Now, after leaving the corporate world to become an indie developer, I finally built the game — in just 7 days using AI tools.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m the solo developer behind The Lift. Before becoming an indie developer, I spent more than a decade working in C-level roles.
The idea for this game actually appeared 8 years ago when I was working as a CTO. Our office was in a tall building with 8 elevators, and every day there was the same situation — standing there waiting and watching elevators move up and down, trying to guess which one would arrive first.
At some point I started thinking:
What if this was a puzzle?
Passengers appearing on different floors, an elevator moving through the building, and the challenge being to plan the optimal route to deliver everyone to the right floors.
I wrote the idea down… but never had time to build it.
Over the years my career changed quite a bit — I eventually became CEO of the company.
But the game idea stayed in my notes the whole time.
Recently I stepped away from the company to take a break and think about what to do next.
So I decided to finally build that old idea.
To make it more interesting, I set myself a challenge:
build the entire game in just 7 days using AI tools.
AI helped throughout the whole process:
• Coding — I built most of the game in Cursor using Opus 4.6 Max
• Graphics — generated with ChatGPT, Nano Banana and pixellab.ai, then refined in Aseprite
• Planning — ChatGPT basically acted as my project manager and kept the development on track
The result is The Lift — a retro-style puzzle where you plan the elevator route to deliver every passenger to the correct floor.
It’s basically a tiny logistics puzzle inside a building.
Would love to hear what you think — and happy to answer any questions about:
