Very comprehensive lesson plans on Javascript - both written and YT vids. I believe this course is well known as it's been recommended to me from multiple sources. Would love to hear if anyone has followed the tracks.
@benhoffman_ Would love to hear your thoughts on learning JS just for personal scripts. I'm not interested in becoming a full-time dev, but I have huge interests in automating tasks and being able to do very basic things with code.
Most of the tutorials out there seem to be preparing people for the career, I'm just looking to hack away on my own for fun. Thoughts? Is there a real difference here?
@mattellsworth just saw this. good question and i wish i had an answer to. ive found the same thing - most courses are career driven. what i recommend is to review codeschool, treehouse, and a few others on the list and look for a course that speaks to you. do the 14 day free trial and see how it goes.
im very early in my js learning but if i come across anything ill definitely let you know. please do the same. wish i can be of more help but frankly, ive been wondering the same thing as you. :)
