Tharavadu connects residents, committees, staff, security, and vendors in one place — visitor management, documents, billing, governance, and everyday operations, built India-first.
Tharavadu started with a simple observation: managing a residential community is still surprisingly fragmented.
Visitors are logged at the gate, maintenance requests come through WhatsApp, bills live in spreadsheets, documents sit in folders, and important decisions get buried in chat groups. The tools exist, but they rarely work together.
We wanted to build something around the community itself, not just another visitor or billing app. So we built Tharavadu — one connected platform for residents, committees, security, staff and vendors, bringing visitors, billing, helpdesk, governance, facilities, parking, staff, assets and emergency management into one place.
The name Tharavadu means an ancestral family home — a place where people, records and responsibilities belong together. That became our design philosophy: one place for the whole community.
While building it, we realised that the problem was bigger than day-to-day operations. Communities also need continuity when committees change, clear accountability, proper records and role-based access. That led us to build governance and long-term community records into the product, rather than treating them as add-ons.
We also learned to focus on adoption. Communities don't need to change everything in one week. They can start with their biggest pain point and gradually bring more of their operations into Tharavadu.
Now we're launching on Product Hunt to get Tharavadu in front of more communities, hear honest feedback, and build the next version together with the people who actually use it.
