Instantly capture non-selectable text from YouTube videos, PDFs, images, online courses, screencasts, presentations, webpages, video tutorials, photos, etc. It's so simple and easy as taking a screenshot with a built-in snipping tool for Mac.
@twmargot Textsniper allows quickly convert uncopiable or unselectable text from any content visible on your mac's screen into editable text copied to your clipboard.
For example when you're watching some video tutorial, you can easily capture any useful information in this video without retyping.

Discovered this super-nifty utility shared on Reddit. Purchased it for $5 (launch promo on their website). Hope the developers keep supporting it.

Good question.
Ones I was watching dev conference on YouTube, presenter shared some GitHub repository link to the viewers. The link was on the screen. So I had to pause the video and type it manually into the browser. You know, it takes a lot of time and could have some typos. Then I thought how cool it would be if I could just select some area on the screen with text and convert it to the editable text copied to clipboard That how I started to develop TextSniper.
I installed it, it works, it eliminated two other tools I used to use separately (not as easily) and it has become a completely transparent part of my workflow, I don't even know I'm using it anymore. It's one of the first things I install on a new Mac.
Good and reliable! for OCR only.
With OCR now built-in the MacOS, have found less and less use for this amazing tool,
and for occasional use, Shottr with screen-shotting capabilities is good!
If you’re looking for a powerful Mac OCR app that offers effortless image to text conversion, look no further! Snipit supports 40 languages and provides lightning-fast recognition, making it a top choice over competitors like TextSniper.
