I made TextSnap Pro! It's super simple: just use the Share button on any photo or screenshot in iOS, and pick 'Parse'. The app instantly scans the image and pulls out all the text. But here's the cool part: it's *smart*. If it finds a website, you can tap it to open Safari. A phone number? Tap to call. An address? Tap to open Maps. It even detects foreign languages for instant translation!
Hey HN!
I’m an indie dev and I wanted to share a little project I built.
Basically, I got tired of having to open a full app just for a quick 2-second task. So I went pretty extreme with the design: the app runs almost entirely inside the iOS Share Sheet and a quick half-modal popup. You get your results blazingly fast without ever having to manually launch the app itself.
Fun confession: In my very first build, I didn't even bother making a main app screen—I literally made the main screen just a paywall. Apple reviewers took one look, hit me with an instant rejection, and basically said "nice try." 😅 So I panicked, threw together a "HOW TO USE" guide as the main screen, and finally got it approved!
It's super lightweight and focused on speed. Would love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think!
