You're setting up a new machine. You need a command, a config snippet, an API key from your other device. You email it to yourself: textPortal cuts that loop. Open a session, share the key and paste. Works instantly across any two devices on any network. Mac, Linux, Windows, Android, iOS, doesn't matter. Only the sender needs an account. Web based, no app to install. Text is never stored and lives only for the duration of the session. Free to use, with a Personal tier for saved canvases.

I built this because I kept emailing myself text snippets between several devices as an IT technician and computer science undergraduate. It felt absurd that there was no frictionless way without exposing private information. textPortal is a real-time text relay: generate a 4-word key, open the same URL on another device, start typing. Sessions are ephemeral, nothing is retained server side after you leave.
Free to use. Would love to hear if this solves a real pain for you.
