QGIS is the free desktop GIS used by hundreds of thousands of analysts, and most of their day goes into clicking through the same tools. AI Agent turns a sentence ("buffer the schools by 500 m and count the homes inside", "map travel time to the nearest hospital") into finished layers and a styled map, inside the QGIS they already use. It finds the open data, runs the analysis, names its sources, and one click undoes anything it changed.
We measured it on GeoKTools and GeoExpertQueries, the two geospatial benchmarks Google Research released in October: 43.8/100 on 41 held-out public questions, against 24.9 for Claude Sonnet 5.5 driving QGIS through an MCP server.
