Curio AI Chat, the WordPress chat widget that answers only from your own content and says so when it cannot, opens on WordPress.org today. The countdown, then the listing.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Muhammad, and I build websites and the automation behind them.
Curio started with a question I kept hearing from clients: can we have an AI chat on the site, and can we trust what it says? Most chat plugins answer the first with a yes and the second with a shrug. Ask them what a wedding shoot costs and they will give a confident, made-up figure, on your website, in your colours, and the customer believes it.
Curio has one rule: it answers only from a knowledge base you control, and when the answer is not there, it says so. If none of your content matches the question, no request goes to the AI at all. The decline is written by the plugin, and the visitor gets a button to reach a real person.
What is in the box:
• Answers from your pages, posts, WooCommerce products and hand-written FAQs, each linked to its source
• Bring your own key: Anthropic, OpenAI or Google Gemini, billed by them, routed through nobody else
• Demo mode with no key and no cost, so you can rehearse before you spend
• Every unanswered question logged, with an "Answer this" button
• Skins to match your site, with a live contrast check
• No tracking, no phone-home, no subscription. Free and GPL, source on GitHub.

I would love to hear what you would ask it, and where it should have said "I don't know" and did not. Thanks for looking!
