What do you think? …

Nicholas Nelson
TechFights is a rating of the best technology companies and startups. Today we have near 30 companies with lots of interesting information, like: Main Program Languages, Interview Difficulty, Employees Rating, Average Salary and People Reviews. Each company has a certain number of points which are calculated according to the values of certain data (maxinmum - 100, minimum - 1). I remember the day when I came up with this idea, I had a big smile (I think many familiar with this feeling), but I didn't know how it should looks until I found nomadlist.com for what I want to say "Thank you!". Based on the experience of many companies, I realized that without a community project grows very slowly and can't show it full potential so I decided to make this project like a "heart" of big ecosystem where the main idea is to "Help people to find a great job". As a result I am very happy to be here and share with you my plans and dreams!

This offers a nice comparison of the biggest startups/tech companies in order to help people work out where they might like to work. From the About page: "Tech Fights is ranking of the best and well-known technology companies and startups that are located all over the world (most of them in Silicon Valley). We "index" companies and assign a certain number of points to them (more points better company). As a result you can find your "best place to work" and compare the large number of parameters such as the average salary, the opinion of employees, adequacy of management and many more."

Many of these companies have offices all over the world. Is the average salary data accurate? Or only calculated by working in the US? Wages differ greatly depending on geographic location.
Nicholas Nelson
@chezacke yes, now it's based on US location. In plans to add all companies office locations with their own data!
Nate Legler
I think from just an informational standpoint about each of the companies is awesome. Like a few have said, reviews I always take it with a grain of salt and a sprinkle of pepper.
Nicholas Nelson
@natelegler you're right, but if there will be more, it will be possible to find something common in each of them and make your conclusions. Also you will never know how to work in the company until talk to a co-worker or read thier reviews 😉
Aryeh Jacobsohn
Is it just me, or does there seem to be a relationship between average salary and rating? That would be a fun analysis.
Nicholas Nelson
@aryehj Yep, it's included in the formula that determines the rating of the company in the table. "Company index" = avg. salary + ... + ... + etc. - all components are in the company data 😌
Aryeh Jacobsohn
@zero___hero Aha! There I go, inviting multicollinearity into the universe. Very cool. Sharing these data with each other makes for excellent negotiation prep.
Nicholas Nelson
@aryehj Thank you! Re-read your comment and came up with the idea to make the game "Guess the composition of the formula and you will pay $5" oh, how much traffic will be 😄
Alex Lukianov
Hm, seems to bereally interesting idea! Is it suitable to use not just for finding out some info about working in tech companies, but also to get new connections with people from these companies?
Nicholas Nelson
